The Wales Coast Path - A Practical Guide for Walkers is an essential companion for both the serious long-distance walker and for day-trippers who wish to tackle the Path one stage at a time.

The route is broken down into manageable days of approximately 9-15 miles, with basic route description interspersed with notes on sites of historical, geological and wildlife interest and alternative routes that enable short visits to additional key locations just off the official Path.

This full-colour guide, the product of extensive research by two professional Rights of Way Surveyors, contains over 80 attractive hand-drawn maps as well as over 30 spectacular photographs. It is also produced in a practical pocket-guide size, similar to the dimensions of the standard OS guides.

Each day's walk within the book has been carefully and thoroughly prepared by the authors in order to maximize the availability of local public transport, parking and accommodation options (camping and B&Bs).

The Wales Coast Path, for the first time, provides walkers with a consistently waymarked path around the whole coast of Wales which includes two National Parks, three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, eleven National Nature Reserves and numerous Sites of Specific Scientific Interest and Local Nature Reserves. Wales is the first country in the world with such a route around its entire coastline.

Christopher Goddard & Katharine Evans have both been working as freelance Rights of Way Surveyors for nearly 10 years, covering the footpath networks of the Lake District, Powys, West Yorkshire, Sheffield, Berkshire, Cheshire, Bristol and may more areas of the UK. During 2012 they undertook a complete survey of the Wales Coast Path for the Countryside Council for Wales.
